I like to chat with Amazon delivery people. They’re on the front lines of COVID-19 delivering our essential (and non-essential) stuff. The least I can do is say, “hello.”

Today, an Amazon van with a delivery man (equipped with a face mask and gloves) drove toward his next stop, my neighbor’s porch, blasting music. I shared, from my driveway, while tinkering with my lawnmower, that it’s nice that he can play his own music (via Bluetooth streaming) through the van speakers. He responded with a big smile, “that’s all I need is a little music and sunshine - not rain.” He glanced toward the bright blue sky and said, “This is freedom.”
