Dam(n)

I used to run in the morning. Now I walk. Mostly through Parker Woods nearby our house. The creeks that run through the woods are incredibly high and flowing earnestly after the recent abundance of rain.

My inner child desired to build a dam. That's just what you do as a kid when you play in a creek. I followed the call and constructed the makeshift dam above from a slab of concrete and some wood. The tourquoise step blocks were already there to help hikers avoid the muddy path.

After I built and destroyed my dam I followed the creek to its source. The fork above shows one origin (to the right) that seemingly springs out of the hillside. I continued for several minutes romping through the woods, following my curiosity, like a child. It was wonderful.
